The goal
Design a living room where visitors are welcomed into the home and the client can enjoy quiet comfort and relaxation. The furniture space plan must accentuate the existing window and support entertaining.
Some highlights
As the first room off the entry to this home, the living room sets the tone for the spaces to follow. The juxtaposition of clean lines and sophisticated color palette against heavy textures and primitive objects support the balance of informal and formal functions of the room.
Two tall bookshelves frame the window while casual drapery panels soften the geometric lines. Plush down seating provides perfect places to curl up with a book or sit and converse. The bench provides additional perching space for larger gatherings.
