The goal

Create a hardworking home office with full size amenities in a small foot print adjacent to the kitchen in this existing home. Provide maximum storage for files, binders, office supplies, tackable space and a kennel for the family pet. Balance beauty with pragmatic realities of an office.

Some highlights

Walnut cabinetry with simple detailing is used to provide needed storage. Use of few finishes and carefully balanced patterns creates a sense of space in a small room. Emphasis was created at the window with beautiful silk draperies which frame a woodland view.

Practical commercial carpet in a simple pattern provides both beauty and ease of movement for the commercial task chair covered in a small animal print fabric. Custom metal lattice is used on the kennel to hide the function of the cabinet while providing air circulation.
